Although our living room looks like a comfortable space to relax. Storage was a priority for us when designing it. The space below the sofa is packed full of storage! We keep our whole electrical system below our sofa as well as board games, camera equipment, and many many cans of juice.

Other storage areas in our living room include our curved storage unit beside the door which we use for shoe storage and our overhead cabinets where we store our clothes.

The beauty of designing and building your own kitchen is customising it so that it can store everything you need perfectly. Our kitchen has more than enough space to fit all of our kitchen stuff.

All of our kitchen equipment including plates, bowls, and utensils are kept with our induction hob and grill in a drawer in our base unit. This unit is also home to our fridge and diesel heater.

All of our non-refrigerated food is kept in our overhead cabinets and slide out pantry.

We opted to have a small shower cubicle with a porta potti which sits inside. Having a bathroom in your van is great for obvious reasons but also doubles as a fantastic storage space.

We keep our wet towels and swimming costumes hung up in the shower area so the moisture can drain directly out to our grey water tank.

Beside the shower, we have a floor to ceiling storage unit with shelves and slide-out pantries. This holds all of our toiletries, beauty products and cleaning products.

The ‘garage’ area is undeniably the largest storage space in our van. The garage is the full width of our van and 120cm deep. This means it can fit a hell of a lot inside.

The garage space is on a raised floor. This is so that we can keep our slide out picnic benches as well as some storage boxes under the floor. These boxes are great for keeping smaller items which would otherwise get lost in the large storage space.

The garage is home to an inflatable kayak, skateboard, helmets, wetsuits, badminton set, electrical hook up cables, a full size hose and much much more.
