Valencia is a stunning city that boasts a modern, progressive vibe. Its unique combination of the old and new make it a great city to explore. However, one thing Valencia lacks is a safe place to wild camp and leave your van throughout the day within the city. We learnt this the hard way.
We arrived in Valencia late on a Saturday evening and managed to secure a space in a carpark a mere 30-minute walk from the centre of Valencia. Our biggest mistake was moving from this spot. We then found a spot just inside the ring round. To our horror, the next morning we were shocked to find the van next to us had its window broken. Finally, we found a space just outside the city that was absolutely perfect for visiting the city due to its great public transport links.
This spot is a completely flat parking lot that is frequented by cars, vans, motorhomes, and coaches. It is peaceful and never gets too busy – a problem you will face if you want to park closer to the city. There are also bins within the car park. Perhaps the best thing is its proximity to the metro station.
The nearest metro station to the place where you wild camp in Valencia is Alboraya Peris Aragó. It has trains that take you straight into the heart of Valencia, with no need for complicated transfers. It really couldn’t be easier. Tickets we also extremely reasonably priced, making this wild camping spot a no-brainer for us. It is safe, clean, and with easy access to the centre of Valencia, what’s not to love?
