Knockan Crag is one of the most stunning locations we parked overnight at when doing the NC500! The high up, uninterrupted, panoramic view out over a loch and the mountains will take your breath away! We were extremely lucky and saw a deer swim across the loch!
This location really has it all. The facilities are first class, and there is even a visitors pavilion that has educational resources to learn about the history and geology of the area (as it is part of the North West Highlands Geopark), it seems far too good to be free.
The main flaw at this spot was the lack of service and 4G signal! The ground isn’t that level either. Both of us slept pretty poorly here, however, we are unsure why!
All in all, despite a relatively poor night sleep, Knockan Crag was definitely one of our favourite places that we chose to park overnight!
