Discover the best wild camping spots in all of Italy. Unfortunately wild camping (known as ampeggio libero in Italy) is illegal. So if you choose to wild camp you could be faced with fines up to €500. That being said we stayed in many places throughout the country and didn’t come into contact with police enforcing these fines at all.
These spots have all been tried and tested by us and we have felt completely safe leaving our van throughout the day, and night!
